PIMCO strengthens Swiss team by adding a number of investment professionals

The firm responds to the continued growth in its Swiss business by expanding its client service team

 

Zurich (September 15, 2020) - PIMCO, one of the world's premier fixed income investment managers, is further strengthening its Swiss team in Zurich with several new investment professional appointments.

Marc Schumacher has joined PIMCO’s Zurich-based Global Wealth Management team as Senior Vice President and Account Manager to work closely with Global Wealth Management clients, such as cantonal, regional and private banks and independent asset managers. Additionally, Robert Eugster has joined the Swiss Global Wealth Management team as Account Manager. Simone Torsello will support the team in an account associate role. PIMCO also strengthened the Zurich based institutional team with Diana Truong, who recently joined PIMCO as an Account Manager servicing institutional clients in Switzerland. Together with these new hires, the Swiss team now consists of 15 dedicated client servicing employees, which reflects the importance of Switzerland for PIMCO.

PIMCO has had a physical presence in Zurich since 2008 and has experienced sustained growth in Switzerland across its institutional and Global Wealth Management businesses ranging from traditional fixed income to private credit strategies.

Biographies

Marc Schumacher

Mr. Schumacher is a senior vice president and account manager in the Zurich office. He is responsible for growing PIMCO’s Switzerland-based global wealth management business, covering cantonal banks, regional banks, private banks, and independent asset managers. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2020, he was an executive director with AllianceBernstein Switzerland, responsible for the entire wholesale business in Switzerland. Previously, Mr. Schumacher was at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, focused on the cantonal and regional banks business in Switzerland. Prior to that, he worked as an investment consultant at Bank Vontobel and as a fund selector for the private banking division at Credit Suisse. He has 15 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from ETH Zurich and a master’s degree in earth sciences from the University of Bern. He is a CIIA charterholder.

Robert Eugster

Mr. Eugster is an account manager in the Zurich office and a member of the global wealth management team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2020, he worked in investment banking in FX and emerging markets rates sales at BNP Paribas in London, servicing institutional clients. Previously, he worked in treasury and FX trading as well as equity sales trading at a Swiss private bank, and he began his career in the private banking division of Credit Suisse. He has 10 years of investment and financial services experience and holds a master’s degree in finance with a specialization in investment management from Cass Business School, City, University of London.

Simone Torsello

Mr. Torsello is an associate on the EMEA global wealth management team in the Zurich office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2020, he worked in the client relationship team of HSBC Private Bank in Zurich, covering Swiss domiciled UHNWI clients. Previously, he worked as a relationship manager at Raiffeisen. He has 12 years of investment and financial services experience and holds a master’s degree in advanced finance from IE Business School, Madrid, as well as an undergraduate degree from Zurich University of Applied Sciences.

Diana-Lucia Truong, CFA

Ms. Truong is an account manager in the Zurich office, focusing on institutional client servicing in Switzerland. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2020, she worked as a portfolio manager for Bank Julius Baer in Zurich. She has six years of investment and financial services experience and holds a master’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Zurich.
